چکیده
Objective: Water plays an important role in both domestic and commercial settings. Pathogenic microbial contaminants, however, render water unsafe for use. There are several reports on the quality of used drinking purposes humans but few studies have been conducted animal farming. Methods: In this study, resistance pattern bacterial isolates from poultry production Ashanti region Ghana our previously published report was determined. The presence Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus coagulase-negative Staphylococci determined using selective culture media (pour plate method) confirmed through Gram staining biochemical reactions. Antibiotic sensitivity followed by detection Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) producing Gram-negative isolates. Results: study revealed that farms contains sources multi-drug resistant strains E. S. staphylococci . were recovered 31%, 36%, 64% 19% samples, respectively. Majority these to cephalosporins penicillins. Almost 95% resistant. None coli typhi produced ESBL. Conclusion: is a need stringent regulations measures should be taken make various safe use husbandry as waters potential source pathogenic which can cause infections animals farm workers.
